Quick ramble for todays post. I get asked all the time if I think Mac shadows are worth it and what I honestly think of them. To sum it up very quickly, yes Mac shadows are good. Some much better than others, but the true stars are their neutrals, you couldn't beat them. Sometimes I find the brighter colours tend to be a bit patchy sometimes but you can always play it safe with their browns and natural tones.
L-R Omega, Charcoal Brown, Cork, Swiss Chocolate, Handwritten & Embark. |
Charcoal Brown - A lovely transition shade for any eyeshadow look, more on the warmer side but still has lots of cool tones through it so it's very easy to get away with.
Cork - A brilliant colour for darker, more golden blondes brows. Perfect for you if you've tried Omega and you found it was too light, this is the one for you.
Swiss Chocolate - A gorgeous warm, chocolatey shade, perfect for a rich smokey eye. Sadly, it doesn't take like chocolate, that's the only downfall.
Handwritten - It's a Matte2 finish, which means it's super easy to blend, it's super buttery and rich. I love this for people who have naturally very dark or almost black brows but like them a little bit lighter.
Embark - I got this not so long ago and I really rate it. It's lovely to add definition along the lash line, as a substitute for black. It's very red tho, that when you blend it out it becomes almost purplish, bare that in mind if you're not a fan of too much warmth.
These are all perfect for a kit or for people who are only starting to get into makeup and haven't a clue what to get into Mac, because we all know it's overwhelming at the best of times when we walk into that counter, hope you found this useful!
