MAC HAUL

I mustn't be the only person in the world who goes into Mac for a 'look' and leaves with a bag of stuff that I had no intentions of buying. Right?! This time it was for a look at some lipsticks and lipliners. I had an itch for a shiny new lipstick or two and that itch has finally gone.  I got two lipsticks that I've never had, Verve and Modesty. Both were for the kit, but Modesty might have to make a swift exit into my makeup bag.

Verve & Modesty

On top we have Verve, a muted, brownish plum. This is a Satin finish lipstick that is really on trend right now with the whole KJ thing we have going on in the beauty community. It's a really nice, ultra creamy lipstick with a slight sheen, probably Mac's best and most popular lipstick finish due to the fact it's so comfortable to wear. The lasting power can last anywhere between 2-5 hours depending on what your doing.

Modesty is a lovely, neutral but more pinky 'my lips but better' shade that everyone should own. I love it. It's a Cremesheen finish that is 'no mirror needed' easy application. Because of the finish, it won't last as long as Verve, but you should get a good 2 hours wear. This type of shade will be different on everyones complexion, the same way Creme D Nude makes me look like an extra from the Walking Dead, but looks gorgeous on anyone with a slight tan and olive undertones. It's the type of shade that you would need to try on in store.

For the past year, it's almost been impossible to get Whirl and Soar Lipliners, due to the craze of KJ. Don't get me wrong I love Kylie Jenner, but I don't like it when one of my favourite lipliners is sold out worldwide?!

Whirl is an old favourite, and one of the first lip pencils ever I bought for my kit years ago, so this is more of a 'repurchase' than a new buy. Whirl is a colour my mum has been wearing from literally 1993, I love it because it really is a great colour to over line the lips with because it creates more of a shadow than a harsh, structured line. An exciting new buy for me is Soar, I actually regret not getting this colour years ago for my kit because I've had to wait what seemed a lifetime to get it.

Soar is more of a pinky rose and Whirl is more of browny rose, both muted and very 90's. The
formula of Mac lipliners have to be one of the best when it comes to lasting power and pigment. They glide onto the lips, and because they're more of a dry liner than a creamy liner like more modern pencils, it can last up to 5 hours without a retouch. They also last forever, I think I have a Spice liner that must be about 6 years old and it's still going strong. Both £12.50.

Soar & Whirl

I now think I'm addicted to Mac lip pencils. I've always been addicted to their lipstick, but now an obsession has started. I've currently 9, and I'd wonder what the count will be by Winter time.
If you've any Mac suggestions for me, send me a tweet and I'd love to check it out!
