I love my job more than anything in the world. I love trying all the new product releases and testing the latest foundation or cleanser, but I love nothing more than finding that one product that's outstanding and better than all the rest. The one thing that I will always keep on going back to, because it's incredible. Then I'll come on here and write away about it and I'll even get messages or tweets from you guys, thanking me for recommending such and such, but somewhere down the line, I
I'll go back to repurchase it, and it's gone.
I've just found out that one of my favourite hair products, Styling Wax by Charles Worthington (check out my Ultimate Top 10 post) is gone. Gone and never coming back.
WHY?
Why would they do that. What fun do they get out of seeing me teary eyed, as I stand in Chanel and get told that Pro Lumiere was gone. Gone. Almost 4 years later and I'm still sensitive about it. For example, let's take Pro.. It was the most beautiful foundation. It was Chanel's cult product.. It was creamy and dewy and it had the perfect amount coverage. They said that it needed a revamp, so they released Perfection Lumiere.. which a heavy, matte foundation that clung on every imperfection on my face & it was so heavily scented it then broke me out. WHY.
My problem is.. why get rid of something that was your best? Something everyone loved and it was clear as day it was a top seller. I understand if something isn't doing well, reformulate it and make it better.. or try and promote it. Don't get rid of it all together.
This post isn't all about Chanel and the murder of Pro Lumiere, (see, sensitive) It's about brands letting us fall in love with something, and they rip it out of our hands before we can even repurchase a backup. At least let us know months in advance so we can stock up.
Between Mac Soft Brown eyeshadow, Clinique Dewy Smooth, Benefit You Rebel, Dior Activ Bronzer, Estee Lauder Idealist Even Skintone and Kevyn Aucoin Liquid Airbrush Foundation. I am heartbroken.
Let me know if you've ever had your heartbroken by a makeup company, we sure as hell know I have.
Jack x
